Botanics - Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm

Hello again my beautiful readers,
You may or may not know that i am at the beginners stage of being obsessed with skincare, its something i know little about and is something I'm experimenting with.

I have oily skin and suffer with breakouts on my chin area, especially at that time of the month, its like a mountain range, so I'm obsessed with cleansers, in my head the more i keep up a good skincare routine the more my skin will benefit.
So I'm currently testing out quite a few skincare products in hope of finding my PERFECT routine , so  I'm going to review my findings.
While i was out shopping for some new skin care bits i seen this on the shelves in boots, I've read a lot about the botanics range but surprisingly wasn't a range i had tried.

In the box you get the cleanser and a little muslin cloth to go with it , to help with the removing of the cleanser from your face.

The muslin cloth isn't amazing quality but its good, i like it better than the one you get with the Superdrug hot cloth cleanser.

I have heard so much hype around cleansing balms but just couldn't justify paying for them especially as i have oily skin i thought it would just make it worse and breakout.
I have been dying to try one and when i seen this i seized the opportunity.

The website states:

"This organic deep-cleansing balm contains a luxurious blend of Shea Butter, Rosehip and Jojoba Oil to leave skin smooth and beautifully clean.
The ultra-rich softening formula swiftly lifts make-up, while the gentle polishing action of the muslin cloth helps dislodge pore-clogging debris, revealing your beautiful radiant complexion.
Rosehip is nature's nourishing gem. The seeds are a rich source essential Omega oils, which help to improve suppleness and keep all skin types beautifully soft and healthy looking.
Our beauty scientists use active plant extracts approved by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, to bring you beautiful skincare that's proven to work.
We've taken steps to reduce our impact on the planet at every stage in this product's journey.
  • Formulated without parabens.
  • People tested.
  • Please recycle where possible."

I use this after i have cleansed my makeup off using a cleansing oil, i then massage this product into my fingers a little and then using upward strokes over my face and neck, I love massaging this in to the skin, it feels so luxurious and smells amazing.
It looks like paste but once it touches the skin it starts to melt into an oil that i just really rub into the skin, i then soak my muslin cloth into hot water, ring it out and then hold onto my face for 10 seconds to allow the product to penetrate the skin and to bring any impurities to the skin. I then buff the product off the skin with the muslin cloth provided.

I don't use this to take off makeup so i can't comment on how it works with that , but for a second cleanser i absolutely love it.

I love how my skin feels after it, for me it does leave a film over the skin but i don't mind that, it feels like its still working even after i have washed it off and defiantly doesn't do any more damage to my oily complexion.

I also mainly use this in my night time skincare routine as I'm worried the film might then make my makeup slide right off my face but its a great overnight treatment to put the moisture back into my skin.

My skin looks more radiant and just a lot more cleaner if that makes sense, like i don't feel like their is any more grime on my face after this., and it just gives my face a lovely glow.My skin also feels so nourished.

I found it gentle on the eyes too and it was okay for me to rub over them to remove any last traces of my waterproof mascara.

have you tried this balm?
can you recommend anymore skincare products for my oily skin?
whats your favourite cleansing balm?

This can be bought online or in store from boots here and its currently on offer for £6.49 absolute bargain for this little skincare gem.

thanks for reading
