My Weekend Skincare Routine - Oily Skin - 2015

Well hello there,

Todays post is my weekend skincare routine if you haven't already guessed from the title.

I absolutely love this type of post and I like to see what everyone uses on their face and sometimes it gives me inspiration to go out and buy products for my own stash and to try out.

This routine is what I use on a weekend .. mostly a Sunday for when I have more time and can really pamper my skin and add in some extra products.

Most of the products I use on a day to day basis but the little extras just make me feel super pampered and really ready for the week ahead.

Soooo lets get into it..

Ile start off by giving you an overview of my skin, i have oily skin that suffers with spots and hyper-pigmentation. (Spots are so so so much better thanks to a new face wash Ive been using but that's for another post)

For makeup removal (if I have any on)  a quick sweep over my face with the botanics all bright 3 in 1 miceller water gets rid of most of it. Then I can get onto cleansing my skin..

So I start off by washing away any left over makeup ,dirt and grime and for that I use the Liz Earle Cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser.. I love the smell of it , its just like a spa and its not to heavy on the skin , I Just massage this all over my face and down my neck. I then submerge a flannel in to quite warm water, not the muslin cloth provided as I think the flannel gets deep down and does a better job of cleaning the skin. I then hold the cloth over my face and let the heat open up my pores and then gently buff away at the skin to remove any dead skin cells, any remaining product and dirt from my skin.

I then put on a clarifying face mask that will just help with the removal of any nasties hibernating in my pores and unwanted under the skin spots that I can suffer with especially when its that time of the month. For this my favourite at the moment is the Origins Clear Improvement Mask a layer of this all over using an old foundation brush, leave it on for 10 minutes and let it work its magic. I use this once a week and then I just rinse off and buff away any missed parts with another flannel.

After the mask is off I do a second cleanse with the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. This is the most amazing cleanser I have ever used, to me it smells like chocolate orange in a way and this just changes my whole complexion. This balm just changes into an oil when massaged into the skin and lifts away any dirt but also brightens the skin up. I cant recommend this enough and if you haven't tired it already then go and invest because its the best investment you will make. The microfiber cloth that comes with it is just amazing and my face feels squeaky clean and refreshed.
I then gently pat my face dry with a towel and make my way over to my vanity for the next part of my routine.

For toner I use the matching Botanics All Bright Cleansing Toner, this reminds me of the Pixi Glow tonic with the naturally occurring fruit acids in it. My Skin has really reaped the rewards from this product and this is currently my second bottle. I honestly believe it has brightened up my skin no end

Next up is a little bit of eye cream , for this I use the Clinique all about eyes eye cream , this is a little travel sized pot from a set , it feels super creamy and leaves my eyes so hydrated and I find it really helps with depuffing and just keeping them wrinkles at bay.

I then go onto a spot treatment which can I say has completely changed my whole routine. I cant say thank you enough for this product and the matching face wash. Honestly I am now completely spot free and its all thanks to this faceB4 combo. Recently I don't have to use the wash as my skin is clear but I still use the FaceB4 Antibacterial serum. It has anti bacterial properties that just helps to keep the spots at bay, and like i said it has completely changed everything for me.This makes a great base for makeup too.

I like to throw a facial oil on to just to give my skin that little bit more moisture and pamper, for this I have been using the Ole Henriksen Pure Youth activating oil. I think this gives a great radiance and really plumps up my skin, giving it a youthful look and a glow from within. Plus I really like the smell of this.

For Moisturiser I have been using The Body Shop Vitamin E day cream for a while now and I am on my second tub, don't know if I will repurchase but up to now its really hydrated my skin and I've been loving it especially over winter, Now its going into spring though I'm in need of a little switch, so any suggestions please comment below? It also easily absorbs into my skin and again makes such a great base for my makeup.

I then apply a smothering of the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream on my lips, this has been a saviour for my dry lips and works even better when I have exfoliated my lips and then put this on. It completely nourishes my lips and gets rid of any dry patches that I may have. I also put it on any dry patches I have on my body.

I then use the Balance Me Facial Expression Filler, I place this around my eyes, my forehead and around my mouth, Luckily I don't have wrinkles.. Yet, but it definitely smooths out my face, especially my forehead.

Finally a little spritz of the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and I am skincare ready. I absolutely adore how this feels on my skin and the scent it gives off. When I first used this I was actually wowed. It tightens up my pores and just gave my skin that extra bit of radiance.

Ive never done this sort of post before, so please let me know what you think in the comments below.
